These non-medical grade masks are made from discard hand loomed cotton ikat, by lekha's partners in rural Rajasthan: the Saheli Women. Each mask is reusable, hand-sewn with inner layers of muslin cotton for added protection. Pleating to cover nose, mouth, and chin.
During India's covid-19 lockdown, the Saheli women were able to make these masks from home, distributing masks throughout the village to essential workers and to the rest of the village.
These masks are not a replacement for medical grade personal protective equipment (ppe).
This is a final sale item. We recommend machine washing, hang drying masks after each use.
Buy one, donate one: with every mask purchase, one mask will be donated to the volunteers at second harvest food bank.
