Interview with Photographer, Julia Lynn

Photographer Julia Lynn has a range of subjects - from beautiful homes to outdoor beauty. In either element, she captures a point in time so poetically. We are big fans of her work.

where is your hometown?

Roanoke, VA

what does your household look like?

Married with two middle school aged children, and a goldendoodle

what year did your company launch?

2001

what originally sparked your idea for the company?

I had graduated from photography school in Atlanta, and had been assisting other photographers, and decided to start my business in Charleston.

what do you love most about your company?

I love all the beautiful homes I am able to see and all the places I’ve been able to visit because of my job.

What is a current goal you are striving for?

I’d like to focus on more personal projects.

How do you keep up your mental health?

Taking walks and not working on the weekends.

Looking back on your entrepreneurial journey, what do you wish you had done differently?

I would advise younger photographers going into the business to not spend any money until you need to. So, don’t go out and buy a bunch of equipment you think you’ll need; wait until you actually need it, and then make the purchase.

if you could give some advice to your 21-year-old self, what would you say?

Don’t worry, things will work out!
