Interview with Jahde Leather Atelier Founder, Andrea Jahde

what does your household look like?

2 cats and my partner, Nicholas

what year did your company launch?

October 2017

what originally sparked your idea for the company?

I wanted it my whole life! It started at a very young age with my adoration for design and fashion. However, going to London for shoemaking started my love affair with leather as a medium.

what do you love most about your company?

My amazing clients that bring custom projects that allow us to grow and learn. Also, I love having the liberty to design and make in house.

What is a current goal you are striving for?

To streamline manufacturing domestically, to broaden my audience, to expand making into footwear and continue to develop new products.

How do you keep up your mental health?

Exercise, morning pages, work life balance and the support of my amazing team at Jahde.

Looking back on your entrepreneurial journey, what do you wish you had done differently?

I wish I had paced myself better when I started my business

if you could give some advice to your 21-year-old self, what would you say?

Seek mentorship in the industry. Find a way to be an apprentice for someone with a craft you are passionate about.
